Vacature: Engineer E&I


Key job responsibilities:

The I&E Engineer is responsible for the engineering planning, design, alternative analysis, specification development and/or application, technical aspects of procurement, and commissioning for all aspects of I&E within the project; at all times the I&E Engineer must assure that the I&E design is safe, operable, maintainable, cost-effective, constructible, reliable and meets the design intent of the project. The scope of responsibility shall cover conceptual engineering, FEED and detailed engineering, advice during construction and review of commissioning activities. Lead project efforts in evaluating electrical system configurations, identifying ratings/characteristics of major equipment, developing electrical system design philosophy, technical interfacing, assessing reliability of systems, & review design of load preservation systems. Participate in all project’s, Hazop, Hazid studies and VIPs exercises as required. Review and /or conduct power-system studies, including short circuit, protective coordination, load flow, transient stability, and harmonic analysis. Prepare power-system models and analyses. Develop and /or review main one-line electrical and protection diagrams. Review distribution system designs and drawings. Assist in factory and pre-commissioning field tests. Lead distribution power systems design, installation and testing efforts. Systems include low voltage levels only. Review electrical equipment failure analysis. Provide equipment selection advice and design support of motors, generators, switchgear, MCCs, VSD's, etc. Manage EPIC contractor detailed instrumentation and controls engineering and related project deliverables. Involved in HAZOP reviews of facility design and direct the engineering contractor to incorporate results into final P&ID’s. Participate in Safety Integrity Level testing, risk Identification and management. Ensures that identified risks affecting the main process are monitored, alarmed, and mitigation plans are attainable in the control system or covered in a sustained training program. Supervise Instrument & Control system, including operator interface methods, so one integrated I&C system will handle the entire platform from as well local and remote locations. Manage process Control Philosophy and development of process tracking metrics required to deliver Operational Excellence to multiple projects. Responsible for ensuring that appropriate technology is utilized and implemented. Capture and apply lessons learned. Provide input and consultation for training, commissioning and startup. Assist in factory and pre-commissioning field tests of various control system components.

•Understand and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements
•Provide clear technical advise

Alternative Analysis
•Develop achievable and creative engineering solutions
•Evaluate such solutions against key project value drivers

•Ensure technical packages are accurate and clearly define I&E needs
•Review technical bids packages and technical evaluation procedures
•Advice in all relevant I&E technical queries
•Ensure FAT requirements and inspection protocols are clearly identified


Job Requirements:

•Minimum of 10 yrs proven experience with offshore oil and gas facility engineering.
•Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills. Should have the ability to recognize communication gaps and appropriately address them.
•Proven experience with an Operator preferred.
•Ability to provide direction, coordination and oversight essential. Ability to work effectively (minimal supervision) in a diverse, multidiscipline team environment. History of success working with complex processes and organizations to ensure project resources (material, equipment, and resources) are secured efficiently. Employ organizational skills, managing diverse workload for multiple customers.
•Fluency in MS Office suite of applications.
•Demonstrates highest safety & environmental performance and leadership traits. Must be proactive in addressing safety issues and have a proven track record of strong support of processes that support Incident Free Operations. Demonstrate support of management objectives and be a change champion. Have a good understanding of safe design & operating principles.
•Demonstrated project management skills. Wide experience in managing multiple sized projects.
•Have a working knowledge of I&E industry and Chevron standards and codes.
•Must have a working knowledge of Chevron’s CPDEP processes.
•Prior operational I&C support experience is desired.
•Bachelor’s Degree is required in Electrical and/or Demonstrated I&C Engineering Experience.
•Experienced in design, fabrication, installation and commissioning of instrument & control, fire & gas and ESD systems on large onshore oil and gas platforms
•Familiar with HAZOPS, SIL testing and RAM analysis. Ensures Operational Assurance processes are implemented in the instrument and control design.
•Experienced in reviewing and approving specifications and RFQs for instrumentation and control equipment.
•Experience with microturbines a plus.
